Los Angeles Union Station Walking Tour This tour will visit and explore the historic Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal. This famed station opened in 1939 and known for its classic Spanish architecture, serves nearly 110,000 passengers a day. Highlights of this tour are areas not normally open to the public. The tour is about one mile of walking 2 1/2 hours and a bus will take you to and from the hotel to Union Station. The bus will be leaving the hotel Thursday at 11:30 am. Ride the “Silver Splendor” to Santa Barbara Our trip departs Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal at 7:35 am aboard the private car “Silver Splendor”, originally the Burlington Route Denver Zephyr Vista Dome “Silver Buckle”. Guests will enjoy a hot buffet breakfast and once in Santa Barbara can take a no host wine tasting tour. Or just visit and take in the local sites. The “Silver Splendor” will leave Santa Barbara at 4:00 pm and dinner will be served on the southbound journey. On this trip you will enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean and Ventura countryside, returning to LAUPT at 7:15 pm. The bus will be leaving the hotel Friday at 6:00 am. Metro Light Rail Yard/Maintenance Facility Tour On this tour you will ride the Metro Light Rail gold line to the Maintenance Facility in Monrovia. A bus will take you from the hotel to LAUPT, where the tour begins and return you to the hotel afterwards. The bus will be leaving the hotel Thursday at 7:30 am. San Luis Obispo extension If you would like to stay on board the “Silver Splendor” and ride to San Luis Obispo please see the registration page for pricing and adding to the fare. If you stay on the car to San Luis Obispo a box lunch will be provided.
